Opened on the Costa de Sol in 1964, it is maintained in immaculate condition and has long been considered one of the top courses in Europe. Sotogrande was the first course Trent Jones designed in Europe and is blessed with his design philosophy, which consists of building courses perfectly integrated with the natural surroundings which are a great challenge to the better players, but accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

La Reserva, Costa del Sol, Spain

La Reserva is the newest addition to the courses of Sotogrande. Designed by Cabell Robinson and opened in the autumn of 2003 to outstanding reviews. The course lies within the Sotogrande complex to the north of Valderrama. The club is situated in a spectacular spot featuring marvelous views of both the mountains and sea.

The famous Valderrama course on the Costa del Sol hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup Matches. It is a course which invariably is in excellent condition throughout the season, consistently ranked #1 in Continental Europe. It demands precision from the tee to find the narrow fairways nestled between cork trees.

Finca Cortesin, Costa del Sol, Spain

Located west of Marbella with wonderful views over the Mediterranean Sea. The natural environment and landscape of Cortesin are one of its most attractive features. The player will remain immersed in a green paradise which is not surrounded by real estate developments. The designers managed to maintain the natural character, finding a perfect equilibrium between the natural plants of the Mediterranean forest and the well manicured fairways and greens. Volvo World Match Play Championship is played here annually.

Emporda GC, Costa Brava, Spain

Two Robert von Hagge designed courses the links and a forest courses.  The Forest Course is more scenic whereas the Links is more challenging and harder and used for PGA Tournaments. The Links is more open allowing the so called Tramontana winds coming from the nearby Pyrenees Mountains to affect each shot. The Forest features manicured umbrella pine tree lined fairways. Both courses are in good shape and definitely worth playing.

Golf Club D’Aro, Costa Brava, Spain

Founded in 1990 this course is situated on top of the mountain “Les Gavarres” with spectacular views across the Costa Brava. The beautiful views from 1000 feet are so good that they make this course one of the best in the area. Surrounded by pines, cork oaks and over a thousand olive trees, this is a tight and challenging course along the ridge-top with plenty of challenge for anyone.  The unique clubhouse and restaurant are a great after golf setting.

PGA Catalunya Stadium Course, Costa Brava, Spain

PGA Catalunya Stadium Course, site of the Spanish Open originally planned to host the 1997 Ryder Cup, local construction delays forced the course opening to delay until 1999. The end result is an architectural masterpiece of golf with fairways bordered by dense, mature forests, ever-present water and far-reaching views.  PGA Catalunya was ranked #1 golf course in Spain in 2012. The Stadium Course has a sister, Tour Course also located on the picturesque PGA Resort property.
